The Marin county police departments are putting a major effort into catching drunk drivers this holiday season. Starting the 21st of December there will be several sobriety checkpoints as well as "saturation patrols" with the objective of finding any drunk drivers out there. It is in your best interest to either - cab, stay sober or stay home this holiday season. The planned checkpoints for the 2007 Holiday season are as follows:
-Saturday, December 15th a "strike team" of roving patrols specifically on the look out for drunk and impaired drivers will operate throughout the County from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
-A DUI/driver’s license checkpoint on Friday, December 21st in San Rafael on Third Street at Brooks Street from 7:00 p.m. until midnight.
-A DUI checkpoint on Saturday, December 22nd in Mill Valley in the 800 block of East Blithedale from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
-A DUI/driver’s license checkpoint on Saturday, December 29th in Novato from 7:00 p.m to 2:00 a.m. The location will be announced later.
