Don't let your SR-22 lapse for even one day because if you do the DMV will immediately suspend your license and you have to pay a $55 reissue fee. If you drive while suspended your car can be impounded and sold (as per the safe streets act of 1994, section 14607.6 V.C.) and you can be arrested.
