On 1/30/09, the Traffic Unit along with Patrol conducted a DUI/Driver's License checkpoint at Manual T. Frietas Parkway at Las Gallinas Avenue as part of a DUI Enforcement and Awareness Grant obtained by the Office of Traffic Safety. As a result, 1,463 vehicles were screened, 15 were cited for driving without a license or on a suspended license, 2 arrested for DUI, and 15 vehicles were impounded or towed.
